So March happened... a while ago. I tend to remember only things of which there is photographic evidence, so here are those things.
| Charlie made this poster for his VIP week at school. He maybe probably definitely had a little help, but did all of the cutting, gluing and coloring himself. In the picture at the top he's holding a bowling ball. Just so you know. |
| In addition to teaching this seminar about how to be a really awesome kindergartner, our VIP got to bring his family, his favorite toy and his favorite snacks to share with the class. |
| The kids in his class didn't have much of a shot at guessing what favorite toy Charlie had brought in the mysterious red bag; it was the bewilderingly-shaped X-wing that he inherited from Will. |
| This little dearie turned six months old the day of this picture, and celebrated the occasion with a very rare moment of photographic cooperation. She very rarely looks directly at the camera and smiles. She was probably gleefully contemplating just how much baby food she would spit on me during her next mealtime. |
| I had to include this picture because it is the facial expression she sports approximately 75% of the time. The other 25% of the time she's smiling or laughing. And the other 75% of the time she's sleeping. Er, wait. Those numbers don't add up. Let me check with my statistician (you know, the one who's always feeding me those awesome statistics I throw out with abandon.) |
| I hope nothing ever comes between these sisters. And certainly not something as trivial as who should take possession of the entire set of "Anne of Green Gables" books they grew up with. Because that would just be silly. |
| Antonia was all in favor for taking some cute pictures outside with Eve...until it came down to actually taking some pictures outside with Eve. |
| She either tried to be really silly, or tried to weasel out of every pose I attempted with the two of them together. But I tried not to get too frustrated, because I realize that it's important to learn how to weasel out of things. That's what separates us from animals. Well, except for weasels. |
| The smile is sweet, but the eyes are just a little bit disquieting... |
| Everyone's expression seems to demonstrate a different reaction to the annual St. Patrick's Day green dinner: Antonia- "This green food appeals to me not at all. I may not taste as much of it if I delicately place it all the way to the back of my tongue and hastily swallow." Charlie- "I am only eating this green food because mom promised me mint chocolate chip ice cream if I finish." Dorothea- "I don't understand what's happening. This food is all green. I'm at Charlie and Antonia's house. Yay!" |
| I think the words you're looking for are "sartorially challenged" |
Just getting in touch with his Tlingit heritage (although I'm none too sure that bows and arrows were used by Tlingit warriors. I'll have to look into that.)
And oh, hey, I just remembered something kind of funny-ish that happened--I think--in March. One night Charlie woke up in the middle of the night complaining of nausea. It was totally out of the blue, and by morning he was perfectly fine. So I asked him what HE thought had happened. "I don't know," he said, "maybe I just got bedsick." (You know, like carsick, which he does frequently suffer from.)

I know I'll forget to tell you, so here I am making my debut in your comments section. And for what? Well, to tell you that I will return to this post on a dark day to read that weasels joke again...and it will be just what I need. Also, am I to assume that you are not happy with where the Anne books have made their home?! Let's have a quote-off for them.
Loved the weasels line. I almost volunteered to be the judge of the quote-off, but I don't want anyone gettin' ideas...
