January-February (Um, something is weird and all I can do is add captions to the pictures, no text)

A meeting of the Peace-Lover's Non-violent Play Association, (a.k.a. Superbowl Sunday with friends Max, Aubrey and Jake)

What I found upon descending the stairs to cries of "Mommy!! Mommy!! Mommy!! Something's happening!!" Seriously, I would have come sooner if Charlie had specified exactly WHAT was happening...

Baby Girl's first pigtails. I had a moment of perfect contentment when I saw these pigtails for the first time. It was like coming home...

Piggie tails require: piggie face.

Best use of Starbucks gift cards that Will is gifted from his students: REAL fruit smoothies that can be acquired via drive-thru (take THAT Jamba Juice)

This is the birthday present I bought for Will after months of hearing how much he wanted/needed it. It is a pull-up bar purchased at the grocery store ("You can get it at the grocery store!" was one of its distinguished virtues.) He now uses it approximately 0 times per week. I now use it approximately 3 times per week. So I guess we're all winners in this scenario: Will, me, the makers of Pro-Fit Iron Gym Total Upper Body Workout Bar, and the grocery store.

Best birthday present ever: both kids sitting still for a family photo!

Will is so good at Guitar Hero he can text WHILE he plays. Sadly, there was limited opportunity for him to school his friends and impress the ladies at his Guitar Hero birthday party, as unnacountable technical difficulties continued to plague the gaming system all night. However, we did have some really awesome white chocolate peanut butter popcorn, though, and that helped soothe my rage . You should try it, the
recipe is here

Favorite trick I learned this month: At my request, Charlie will "Go tell Antonia that I'm coming to get her" in the morning when she wakes up, thus allowing me about 15 extra minutes of sleep. He climbs in the crib with her and/or throws every toy he can find in there with her. This is how I found them one such morning. (Antonia always reads books upside down. I hope it's not some early form of dislexia...)

Hey mom, look how many books I DIDN'T throw behind the crib!!

A picture of Antonia when she jumped through time to 1981? No, friends, it's me!

This picture comparison is making it obvious that I am not doing a good job of maintaining Nia's bangs. Things are looking a big shaggy...

OH MY...Antonia is a spitting image of you!!!! How long did it take to clean up the fabric softner? Aaaaahhhhhh! Love that Charlie climbs in bed with her. Has she learned to climb out yet thanks to his example?

The most delightful similarity worth noting between 1981 you and 2010 Antonia, though, is the toddler- tummy.
