Quick anecdote time

I have some pictures and 'what we've been up to'-type news to share later when I have more time, but I wanted to document a couple of funny things that happened recently in case they slip my mind when I sit down to blog about the other stuff. The first bit relates to some lovely artwork that Charlie did on the wall to entertain himself during one of Will's trumpet lessons. He colored all over a section of wall about 2 feet square with a pencil, but because this was pretty much the first and only time that he has EVER deliberately damaged anything, I wasn't really that upset about it. Also it was hard to be mad and amused at the same time when I asked him who did it and he said "the pencil." Well, OK, if the pencil did it...

The other item: Sometime in the last week or so we got a little action figure of The Joker (from the new "Batman" movie, I assume) in a box of cereal. I think it must have been a "sugar" cereal because you usually find the toys in the cereal targeted at kids, but anyway, Charlie called the little action figure his "scary guy" (it IS kind of scary, have you seen the previews?!) and played with it for a few days. Then I didn't see it for a while, until tonight. Like many other nights since being pregnant, I decided to have cereal for dinner and poured myself a bowl of cereal, which was NOT the sugar cereal that the toy came in- but guess who came tumbling out into my bowl? Scary Guy. I guess Charlie decided that he was done with Scary Guy and it was time for him to go back where he came from: the cereal box. Either he couldn't remember which cereal box Scary Guy had come out of to begin with, or else he doesn't really think it matters; one cereal box is as good of a home as another, for a toy, anyway.
